I had dinner with my sister at Gertrude in October. Super vibrant restaurant, loud and happening. The waiter who was maybe 20 didn’t know what “ pescatarian”means. First big FAIL. The courses arriving at the table were incredibly delicious and creative (I can’t say anything bad about the food at all!). However, again, I was served the wrong plate with meat in it although I had a different one. The meat was not visible at first so I almost had a bite which would have been fatal. Do you serve peanuts to someone allergic to nuts? Same thing. That was second big FAIL. And this time it was even a different waiter. Thats when I was ready to leave but the manager came and she made the situation a little better. We got some complimentary wine but still - this can not happen! So in brief - we enjoyed the food, the service was beyond bad, and maybe consider cleaning your toilet - It was disgusting…

Amazing dishes and great atmosphere. Every dish i’ve tasted was top quality, much better than many fine dining restaurants. The staff is very friendly, they explain the dishes quite well. The prices are quite reasonable. They have a wide range of wines. I tried also the house wine, which was quite fine. Definitely recommend this place.

I went there with for a Christmas dinner. The restaurant had different menu for the festive season. All the courses were well composer and pretty. I missed a bit of warmth in the food as a there were a couple of cold dishes. But overall good food. Wine list is great as well.service was good and staff courteous.

It is a small but cozy restaurant with really nice ambiance. Their special recommendation was the fish cakes, the combination of fried fish cakes and sweet sauce was interesting and tasty. I also loved all the other dishes we ordered, everything was very delicious! I would love to go back.

Nice neighborhood restaurant. 4.5 out of 5!Reminds me of the original Recette in the west village in NYC. I didn’t have reservation but they made room at the bar. It’s always nice to have ‘real’ bar dining. The interior is cozy maybe 20+ seats inside with another 8 at the bar and more than that outside. With nice weather outdoor dining would be quite comfortable. I had the tasting menu (six courses) for €58, excluding wine. Great value! Overall it was very, very good. It consisted of 1st- salmon, 2nd- fish cake, 3rd- leeks, 4th- potato w/quail egg, 5th- sword fish (also pictured is the chicken which is another choice for the main) dessert- bread pudding. See menu for ingredients of each course. The only slight negative was the sauces for a couple of dishes were too sweet for me, but that’s subjective. Another highlight was the bread with smoked butter. The smoked butter outstanding. Also, a good selection of wines by the glass, 20+ and solid inventory of bottles, ranging from €40-100+ It was a nice ‘find’ and I will definitely return. Also a shout out to the staff, all of whom were very helpful and professional. That’s all for now.

We took the tasting menu, and it was incredible! All the dishes tasted great and portions were good. The staff was very attentive and making sure you feel comfortable and nothing is missing in your table. I will definately come back!

First of all, I was impressed by the wine card, there are a lot of interesting options (even orange wines). Food-wise: they offer a variety of snacks and a couple of meal options. If you’re looking for a place with a big food choice, I would suggest something else. Service: place gets very busy and sometimes service was a bit slow. Atmosphere: inside it was too noisy as for, more like a bar than a restaurant. Tables are too close to each other.

Amazing restaurant! Food looks beautiful and tastes delicious! Loved everything we order! But was particularly surprised with Kohirabi dish, order it, it’s fantastic! Oysters and a salmon were a highlight too! Will definitely come back here. Stuff was so friendly and helpful, loved it!
